Eastview students, we miss you already. Look at this desk in my office....we're already thinking about how to make sure you have the best possible school experience! Book Clubs will be rocking in the fall and we're just getting started with building our collection of great books for you!

There is a lot, and I mean a lot of crying happening at EV right now. Not me, definitely not me, but the love between staff & students is palpable. I received the paper in the pic from Mrs. Swininger's class. Being deemed fashionable by 5th..almost 6th graders is a big deal since I'm a total dad. lol!

Families: It's been a great year. Yep, I said great! Different, challenging, unique...of course, but together we accomplished so much & I'm so proud of our kids. I want to simply say thank you for trusting in our team this year, especially our K families who sent "their first" to us. Schools are a part of the fabric of a community and the doors are meant to be open. Tomorrow will be emotional for our staff & kids, no doubt. Please know we appreciate you, all parents & guardians ..we appreciate you! We hope you have a restful summer. Principal Kates

As you know, our last day of school is next Thursday, May 27th. We’d like to honor students next week with “Student Appreciation Week”. 5/24 Pajama Day (popcorn served to students) 5/25 Hats off to Students (students may wear appropriate hats) 5/26 Field Day (popsicles served to students – thanks PTO ) 5/27 Eastview Pride Day (wear blue and white on the last day!) I had to go back to check on the experiment: A K and 5th grade collaboration!

Not even 3 full weeks to go, end of the longest teaching year ever, yet Eastview staff & students both are focused & engaged in learning. This experiment is just one example, across the building students are researching animals, learning scientific concepts through tie-dying shirts, creating digital book "trailers", and much more. I'm proud of our staff. I'm proud of our kids. I'm appreciative of our parents and community.

Our new window graphics look incredible. Not just aesthetics, as we also added a safety film. Thank you to some talented & dedicated people behind the scenes for writing grants and designing the art. It takes a village. First of many steps we're taking over the next several months to upgrade our learning environment; kids deserve to walk into a building each day that they can take deep pride in, where they can feel a strong sense of community. Best is yet to come, Eastview!
