We need a donation of ping-pong balls! Yep, you read that right! We are getting our S.O.A.R. project rolling. Kids earn S.O.A.R. tickets, trade the ticket for a ping-pong ball, and then (as seen in the picture) kids get to come down and dump their classes' ping pong balls into our school-wide S.O.A.R. bin! Do something awesome - get a ticket - feel good about it - and then help the school wide cause of filling the bin! Fill that bin! Student Council chooses the prizes! We'll start small with pajama and hat days, but eventually work our way up to the wild stuff like taping the principal to a wall (yikes!) Bottom line, we need more ping-pong balls! Any color, doesn't matter! A 60 pack is about $12. We could use about 5 or 6 sixty packs!

EV Families: Please see the PTO Flyer for the Santa Shop & Holiday Celebration. Each student will get to go to the Santa Shop on either the 20th or 21st (during their normal Library Specials time). As noted on the flyer, students can purchase gifts for $2.00. The Holiday Celebration is a separate event taking place on the last day before break, Wednesday the 23rd. More information to come! PTO Meets tomorrow, Wednesday the 8th, at 3:00 in the library. All are welcome! (We are experimenting with different meetings times throughout the year.)

In my former job with the Indiana Department of Education, one of my main roles was developing & recognizing teacher talent across the state. Book Fair next week (Nov. 8 - Nov. 12): The kids are so excited! While we will not have a "Parent Night", all kids will get two chances to attend the Book Fair next week (early in the week & again toward the end of the week). Parents can also set up an "ewallet" and shop at the link below! Note: If sending cash with kids, please do so in as secure a manner as possible - sealed in a labeled envelope for instance. Next Thursday & Friday Student Council will be selling doughnuts for 1$. Proceeds to local charity. Popcorn Friday is 50 cents a bag. I know from experience it's no fun when your child asks for money the night before! Set it aside now. Chris Kates
